Wedding Countdown: 6 days

  • Recover from C7Y plague, without causing Kyna any sick days
  • Set up family dinner for evening of Wednesday, December 2
  • Insurance certificate, banquet license, final payment to city
  • Rebalance previous expenses, plan out remaining expected costs
  • Plan "recovery" vacation Dec. 11-14 at Harrison Hot Springs
  • Lock in paperwork with caterer
  • Her Holiness the Rev. Holly Z, KSC will be officiating the wedding
  • Survived bachellor's party (thanks Kat!) without bringing unspeakable shame unto my household
  • Apply for wedding license
  • Pick up Ikea vases

  • Pick up Wedding license
  • Figure out which shoes I'm wearing. Cadet clunkers, brogues from with my kilt, Fluevog boots of awesome, something else. Leaning toward the Fluevogs, for the most awesome possible form of multi-hour ankle support. Will bring swanky dance shoes, of course.
  • Is there anything specific we want to do or say in the ceremony?
  • Pick up beer, cider, wine from Erica at Full Throttle
  • Trim hair
  • Practice opening dance
  • Sort out any other music requests for DJ
  • House cleaning
  • Press shirt, pants
  • Figure out munchie food for us, anybody else present early.
  • Pick up case of "good" soda for non-booze adults
  • Pick up chocolaty somethings to scatter on tables
  • Final payment to DJ
  • Payment to photographer
  • November 21: Get married. Party. Watch my beloved bridezilla shred at least one arbitrary human sacrifice.
  • November 22: Recovery. Aggregate notes into Thank-You List of Doom. Probably not up for running game.
  • December 2: Family dinner
  • December 21: final payment to caterer
Delegated tasks:
  • Kat: pick up growler or two of beer, for a non-IPA option
  • Sean + Marci: help us figure out floral details
Day of:
  • AM: leave house with set-up clothes, wedding clothes and jewelry, deodorant, altoids, antihistamines, decorations, snack food, wedding license, banquet license, park permit, checkbook, Flintstones chewable morphine, bride, beer, cider, wine, shoes (formal & dance), chocolates, flowers
  • Noon, arrive at bathhouse, set up tables, chairs, tablecloths, etc.
  • 1 PM caterers arrive.
  • 1 PM - 2 PM: photographer arrives
  • 3 PM: time of invitation. Dress code is "awesome". Bar opens.
  • ~3:30 PM: ceremony
  • ~3:32 PM: appetizers
  • ~4:15 PM: main buffet
  • ~5:00 PM: cake
  • 9:00 PM or earlier: start tear-down
  • 10 PM must be out of bathhouse
  • After: people who stay through (and help with) tear-down are welcome to come over for board games, leftovers, etc.
