More books
  1. The Adventures of Pinnocchio I prefer the original ending, before the Blue Fairy.
  2. B.P.R.D. volume 3: Plague of Frogs Secret labratories, cults of forgotten, mad gods, conspiracies, and pulp action!
  3. B.P.R.D. volume 4: The Dead I'm really enjoying Mike's stories
  4. The Disunited States of America Surprisingly good. I may have to find some more by this "Harry Turtledove".
  5. DraculaWell-done Changeling story. A man is taken captive by a legendary creature in a strange land, and finally escapes to return home to find that the same creature is corrupting his home and former life.
  6. Eastern Standard Tribe A good read between Good Bands at Sasquatch. Very Stephenson-meets-Palahniuk
  7. Four and Twenty Blackbirds Some things are best left unexplained.
  8. The Ghost Brigades Sequel to Old Man's War. I paid full price for this, after Tor gave me the first book for free. Worth every penny.
  9. Heart of Stone Kat enjoyed this series, so I thought I'd give it a try with the "Kindle Sample" feature. I'm glad I did - and this feature is ridiculously addictive.
  10. Hellboy: The Companion Eeeeeeee!!
  11. Java Puzzlers Interesting. Mostly edge cases around the type-object dichotomy
  12. Practices of an Agile Developer Mostly reminders at this point, but a worthwhile read
  13. Teach Yourself Django in 24 Hours Waste of money. Not much money, since it was used and steeply discounted at Powell's
  14. The Singularity is Near A remarkable example of extrapolating and overgeneralizing from very little data, then liberally applying confirmation bias.
  15. Someone Comes to Town, Someone Leaves Town I was a little disappointed in this one, but it was free. Kyna and Kat both say Little Brother is great, so that's next.
  16. Transmetropolitn volume 5: lonely city Every body loves Spider Jerusalem, right?
  17. Twilight Shiny Vampires in Forks, Washington. Insipid main character, horrible writing. If you can get your hands on it for free, read it for future mocking.
  18. Uglies Another Sample that became a real purchase. I'm very pleased with Westerfield.

I should add my graphic novels to my count. You still have more than I do. *frump*

But, hey, you'll get to meet Catie at Comic Con.

Westerfield is pretty awesome. I think of Doctorow as a more advanced Westerfield. Try Doctorow's Down and Out in the Masgic Kingdom. Very Neal Stephenson-ish.
