How to save Brand New Day
Yes, I'll be canceling my Spider-Man subscriptions. I'm not reading this comic out of nostagia for Joe Quesada's childhood. Here are the possible consequences of "Brand New Day" that we aren't going to see, but would make the story so much more awesome:
  • Iron Man realizes he a) saw Spider-Man unmask and b) doesn't know Spider-Man's identity. Hunting Spider-Man becomes Initiative priority #1. Figuring out how Spider-Man did accomplished this is a close second priority.
  • Joe Quesada is revealed to be a Skrull
  • Doctor Strange realizes that continuity is messed up in twenty-eleven nonsensical ways, so he starts changing the world back - one small, sensible step at a time, with reasonable ramifications, getting ever-closer to the way things were without Mephisto's involvement. Ultimately, he decides that he is unable to make sense of nonsense.
  • Now that Harry never died ... the Green Goblin kills Aunt May
  • A recording of Peter's unmasking (that was somehow out of Mephisto's influence) is found. This jogs Peter's memory that something was taken from him, sending him on an epic quest to discover what he lost.
  • Aunt May finds out that Peter made a deal with the devil to keep her alive. Hilarity ensues.

Doctor Strange.

But, other than that, I'm totally with you. Especially on the first and last.

I'm a big fan of anything involving the devil and ensuing hilarity.
