Gay boy goes back to tine Oregon hometown for his mother'sfuneral. Still has Issues with his scary-strict preacher father. Scary tramp (Tori Spelling) who had a crush on him back in school is desparately trying to jump his bones. His old best friends immediately explains that he's not "really" gay, right after they have sex. The more of his old home he sees, the more obvious it becomes that everything good in his life has come from putting distance between himsef and these people.

Yes, it's a SIFF movie. It's also a good Lovecraft movie. Not "The Passion" for Cthulhu Cultists, but a proper Lovecraftian discovering-the-inner-monstor horror movie, with incremenatally mounting horror but very little in the way of shock, terror, action, or special effects. Well worth the hours.

So that's one positive review for "Shadow Over Aberdeen" and one mixed review so far. I'll have to check it out.
