Kyna says I'm in danger of becoming a food snob
Galaxie espresso is pretty close to my walk to work. Good coffee, short pulls, excellent pours, nice feathering on the steamed milk, blow-your-head-off Morning Glory Chai, and yummy sandwiches. Earlier this week, I picked up a prosciutto, goat cheese, and fig baguette sandwich on my way into work. YUM!

Maruta market - closer than Uwajimaya with decent suchi and bento boxes. Thus far, I've managed not go get suckered into the rice cracker aisle. Unfortunately, like most of Georgetown, it's optimised for lunchtime and shuts down for the evening, but it could be useful for gamer snacks on Sundays.

Brouwer's - nearly publike atmosphere with a respectable temple-of-beer menu. People who don't-like-beer-but-like-lambic should try the Duchess de Bourgogne sour red. Food is good, too - I had a lovely lambburger last night.

This is why you should join www.yelp.com. Oh and Brouwer's is awesome I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

Given the contents of that sandwich and your penchant for the unusual, you might find Chuao Chocolatier interesting. They have a shop in University Town Center (open air mall in La Jolla) and my friend Angie dragged me in yesterday. Very good chocolate with odd ingredients. I was surprised to find that I actually liked the Maya mocha (the chocolate involved has peppers in it).

There was a goat cheese and something else dark chocolate truffle, if I remember correctly. And one with olive oil and sundried tomatoes.

You say that like there is something wrong with being a food snob.
