Kyna's recovering from this morning's surgery, so I'm here with my work laptop and taking care of her. She can't really yell and we don't have a suitable bell, so I plugged the wireless doorbell ringer off of the front door and left it on the nightstand next to her.
I need to get in touch with P.O.S. and deal with some of that paperwork before this 60-day window closes.
I've been reading J.M.S.'s Othersyde which I found at half-price books. It's moderately-OK horror-fluff, but it feels a little too fluffy, like Xanth novels or Danny Dunn stories. The writing style just feels too lightweight for the lovecraftian horror he is trying to convey. Of course, one of the characters - the geek-getting-revenge-via-Dark-Powers - has made the comment that Babylon 5 is "the only science fiction show worth watching". I really need to read something Hard after this, something dense and almost painful to read, yet gripping and ultimately worth the effort.
