Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel
Settling into the new house. Unpacking, unpacking, unpacking. Groceries, furntiures and other details remain, but nothing overwhelming.

Left my key on the counter in the old house. I think I have everything. Cody left a message on my phone; I should call him back when he's not at work.

The project that I've been frantically trying to get into "alpha" state before I leave is finally taking shape. This has been an UGLY week of coding.

The next Developer candidate actually looks worth interviewing. I am sick of having to interview people that only know one language and are only familiar with the tools from one vendor. When you come to me with experience in 7 languages and familiarity with tools from Sun, Microsoft, Apache, and IBM, and a few miscellaneous open-source projects, you might be worth my time.

Leave for JavaOne in 2 days. Leave for ComicCon in 20 days.

I'll have a little time to wander San Francisco on next Friday. Perhaps I should visit Emperor Norton's grave - Colma is on the way to the airport, and Woodlawn cemetary is very close to the BART station.

Indeed.

And then they don't even know how to get their own development environment installed...

Are you interviewing for a new position? I know a couple people that might be a good fit.
