Time to make heads explode.
Apparently, the seller wasn't able to let the appraiser in yesterday, and they rescheduled for Thursday.

Thsi pushes the paperwork back two business days, from "Thursday or Friday" to "next Tuesday or Wednesday".

I'm sorry you have to deal with rampant stupidity, for what it's worth...

I'm getting the impression that it's just part of the joy of homeownership.

More the joy of purchasing a home than anything.

"Oh, the seller f'ed up"
"Oh, we're waiting on paperwork from 'x'"
"Well, they close early today, so it won't get done till tomorrow or the next day."

Holy crap, that's EXACTLY what it's like! You must have bought a house before right?!

It's been five years since I purchased mine, and some things still rub me if I think about them too hard.

Well congratulations are also in order, for what it's worth, Sean. /hugs/

Yup. Take the "take posession date" and add 7-14 business days to get the actual take psession date. Unless you are dealing with the gov't, then add 3-4 weeks.
