Dreams of puppies and cheese
My parents and I were visiting a pet store in the Poulsbo waterfront. The front room had a number of pet carriers, including one that was, as far as I could tell, a circular sponge-cake in a tupperware container. "It's for pugs." said the saleswoman, a tall woman with brown hair wearing a purple skirtsuit and horn-rimmed glasses. "So they don't injure themselves."

In each of the back rooms, we had to turn the lights on for ourselves. There was a counter of cheeses to sample as we looked at the animals. Eventually, I picked out a small brown puppy with an oversized head - he was the Perfect Size.

My parents dropped me off at our house, and I circled out back, carrying the puppy in a paper sack. There were large storm-cellar doors under the porch, which I opened to get into the sub-basement, which was set up with a large terrarium. I released the puppy into the terrarium, and he just stood there as a great big lizard - about five feet long - came out. It had icy white and blue skin. I think it was a monitor lizard. The puppy stood his ground as the reptile advanced, and started yapping at it - "Yip!", "Yip!", "Yip!". I woke up, and there was a dog barking like that in the waking world.
