A lovely, relaxing, solitary day
I spent a good chunk of today wandering around Discover park, walking all the trails I could find. It's actually a pretty nice park, aside from all the frelling dogs. I spent about 3 hours on the trails, so that's probably about 9 miles. I think I'm going to try to get back into day hikes and such; it's one of the few forms of exercise I usually enjoy. The absolute solitude without media bombardment gave me a lot of time for internal dialogue, which was nice; I spent some of the time getting to know some of the newer voices in my head. At one point I discovered that Randall is the most anti-war, while the aliens implicitly trust our leadership.

Not every hike has to be solitary. If I kind find any of my current friends that are interested in the occassional day-hike, I may get involved with the Mountaineers or some such organization. I'll probably do that next spring, assuming I'm not spending gobs of time on a new relationship.

I came home and read for a few hours, sipping on a bottle of this hard black cherry cider my mom brought home from Canada. It's good stuff; I doubt there will be any left by the Funky Death Party.
