iCal calendars
I've been playing with iCal the past few days. It's a decent claendar app with some cool features, but the best one is the remote calendars that you can subscribe to. Take a look here. I especially like the "Release Dates" calendars, which include release dates for movies and DVDs.

With a little bit of work, I was able to get these working in Mozilla Calendar. The main problem is that the URL is in a "webcal:" protocol, which Mozilla does not speak. Here's my little work-around.

First, copy the URL of one of these calendars into the URL bar of your browser. Substitute "http" for "webcal". That will redirect to another URL (http://homepage.mac.com.calendars/something). Copy THAT URL, and Paste it into the Location field of MozCalendar's "New Calendar" dialog. Presumably, a similar tactic should work for Outlook, if it doesn't already handle "webcal" URLs.

I am assuming this only works with Mac. Is there any hack to run it on BSD?

I think you can get Mozilla calendar working on BSD; I know they have the Linux version working. Failing that, check the ports collection for something that handles iCalendar files, like Evolution.
