Thought for today
That brings us back to those trick questions. What makes them tricky is that they rely on the likelyhood that your thinking is conditioned to move in only one direction with respect to the information given. When you are given the answer, you feel a little foolish, perhaps even irritated, because you have been taken advantage of. That's because you instantly realize that you should have known the answer all the time, if only you'd thought about it. But you couldn't have thought about it because your thinking process was preconditioned.

What time are we decking the halls with guns and ammo today?

I believe we said 6 for today. If you show up earlier, I guess we'll just have to watch some Zimmy goodness.

I make no promises to be home before 5, though.

Do you only notice it because you've been expecting to find it? ;)

Re:
I just listen to what my students have to say... maybe it was the same when I was kid... you're right... I just notice it a lot more now... don't know if I'm looking for it or not.
