On Chain-letter Urban Legend bullshit
I used to complain about my mother sending around brain-dead urban legends. Once in a while she would forward one to me and everybody in her address book. Usually I would reply to her with a correction, usually with some instructions on how to repeat the mistake.

She finally stopped when I started sending the corrections via "Reply All" instead of just "Reply". On reflection, I decided this was the correct path. First, it helped spread the information more immediately to all the people she forwarded to, hopefully stopping the meme plague from spreading further. Second, this minor public humiliation did serve as an effective deterrent, encouraging her to change that behavior.

If you forward me a chain-letter urban legend, expect the same treatment.

There are some lovely anti-chain-letter chain-letters floating around out there.

I'm just a litle confused as to why it was sent from THAT E-mail address...

That was probably just so that she could access the address book.

I only had to do that a couple times, and it's been a long time. Maybe she just removed my address from the list, because I'm such a grouch about it.
