Thought for the day
The formal development of a mathematical topic begins with certain undefined terms and axioms (statements about the undefined terms that are assumed to be true). These undefined terms and axioms are used to define new terms and to construct theorems (true statements about these objects). The proof of a theorem is a complete justification of the truth of a statement.
