Thoughts on my first shave with a cut-throat razor
  1. There's an enjoyable bit of ritual to this, I could get used to this.
  2. A little slow at first, but with practice it shouldn't be onerous for every-other day
  3. I really like the bowl-and-brush factor. That alone has made shaving more enjoyable.
  4. Wow. I thought I had this thing crazy-sharp, but I think I'd like to sharpen it some more. Have to make sure not to get a wire edge, of course.
  5. It's kind of hard to see what I'm doing, especially near the sideburns. I'm sure I'll figure out the right hand-razor-arm-face-mirror configuration eventually.
  6. Chins are hard. No wonder beards were popular.
  7. No major cuts!
  8. I think I went a little overboard with the styptic pen.

Well come to the straight razor world! I have been using one for a couple years. Unless I need a quick shave. But they are awesome. Just remeber strech the skin really tight...and keep it reallllly sharp. Do you have a strop?
