Apparently, "useless AC" is today's secret word. The thermometer claims that it's currently 81 in my office. For me, that's pretty close to "too hot to think". Fortunately, I remember how to get across campus without being baked in the solar oven that is Red Square.

Enjoying my Shakespeare class so far. There are enough math and biochem geeks in this class that I am quickly proving to be the student with the most prior exposure to Shakespeare, which is kind of disturbing. Even the woman sitting next to me that wants to be an English teacher has never read or seen any of his plays before.

Class on the fluffy liberal-arts side of the campus is definitely different; the buildings are older and more run down, AC is nonexistent, wireless networking is unreliable, and the chairs are crap, the teacher takes attendance, there is no class website, there are no slides prepared for class, there is no projector, nobody brings laptops to class, and the teacher never responds to email over the weekend ... because she only has internet access from the office.

On the other hand, there are women. My current "study group" consists of myself and three women -- two juniors and one "late twenties" school teacher in the continuous pursuit of more credits and certifications. I may not have serious Lecherous Intentions toward any of them, but on general principle I Like Women. Even back in elemntary school, I always felt like I related better with girls than with the other boys. I think my fixation with girls-in-glasses may date back to a girl I was friends with back in 1st grade.

It's stupid hot, but I have my water bottle and I should try to work.

... she wants to be an English teacher, and yet has had no exposure to Shakespeare?

I'd love to hear what highschool she went to, and make sure no one I know ever goes there. We covered "Romeo & Juliet" in 10th grade english as a requirement, as well as "Julius Caeser".

Let me know if you get any more background info on her :)

No kidding.

I had like... four Shakespeare plays before I left high school.

One a year, right. R&J, one I can't remember, Macbeth and Hamlet.

I had R&J, Hamlet, Julius Ceasar and MidSummer Night's Dream.

We never did Midsummer or Julius Ceasar. :P Not that I'm too bummed, I'm of the personal opinion that Midsummer kinda sucks.
