and Stuff
  • ALMOST over this cough. Then again, I've been ALMOST over it for longer than I was very sick.
  • Going to Madison June 5-9 for a business trip.
  • Class is going well. Aced mid-term.
  • Software rollout tonight.
  • Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicolaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
  • Registered for English 225 (Reading Shakespeare) Summer Quarter. Should finish up my "writing pointless essays" requirement.
  • Tonight or tomorrow, I need to register for Autumn Quarter. Probably a math class or two. I have no fear of high-level math classes filling up before I get around to registering.
  • Bananers
  • Yes, the next session of my game is on Mother's Day.
  • Taking notes on my treo at JavaOne last year was Dumb. Sun posts PDFs of the presentation slides for free download, and even Multimedia presentations with audio recordings. Notes from this year will be more sparse, focusing on things NOT on the slides.
  • Must renew license tabs. Forgot checkbook today.
  • Somehow, the high-fructose corn syrup drinks just aren't tasting good these days. Unfortunately, splenda and nutrasweet drinks still taste worse. Drinking lots of water and the occassional cricket cola.
  • PS3 cheaper than I expected; I will get one when and if there are games I want to play on it. The Nintendo Wii focus on fishing games and next-genration Duck Hunt is kind of scary.
  • Mowing lawn sucks. Very tempted to hire somebody to take care of the lawn. This would probably please my neighbors.
  • Thanks to the different ways gmail and Outlook handle the Sender: header, I can't just forward all of my work email to gmail. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm back into using this crappy "Euntorage" client again.
  • Fiddling with layout in itext-generated PDFs is Not Fun.
  • Leave for San Francisco Monday at 12:15 PM. My return flight comes in the following Monday at 6:24 PM.
  • Still enjoying the new Dr. Who.

What's cricket cola?

Nevermind. Cricketcola.com told me.

Cricket Green Tea Cola
.

I've seen it at most grocery stores in the area. A green tea cola made with cane sugar.

Cricket Cola, yummy.

I find this one disturbing

Cheaper than you expected? I was expecting a flat price point for the whole shebang at the $499 price, but not the "lameo" at $499 and the "hoopty" at $599.
Either way, I don't think I can justify even $499 at this point. It's just a bit too much for my meager salary.

I'd heard a lot of rumors on the 499-799 range, so seeing the "hoopty" model at 599, while not "good" news, qualifies as "cheaper than I expected".

*nods* fair nuff.
Of course, you'll also be looking at $60 or more per game on the PS3. yay for next gen systems... :-P

Madison, WI? Say "Hi" to the cows for me! Was just there a couple of weeks ago. :D

Yeah, our company merged with another one which has offices in Madison, so our entire tech team will be flying over there to share time with their tech team. There's talk of a team outing to a Brewers game.

I'll be sure to say "hi" to the cattle.

iced tea, with a sweetener like honey or agave nectar. Good stuff, and you can make it caffeinated!

I'll give you two a call tomorrow (when I'm home and not occupied) and we can talk about plans for meeting up, yes?
